Counselling for Life's Challenges

People come to counselling for many reasons: anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, life changes, addictive patterns, difficult past experiences, or simply a desire to understand themselves more fully.

I provide compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-informed online counselling tailored to your needs, circumstances, and goals.

Associate Program Coordinator and Lecturer in counselling

Hi, I’m Mark Holdsworth, a PACFA-registered counsellor and lecturer in counselling. I hold a Master of Counselling and have professional experience across mental health, addiction, trauma, education, and community wellbeing.

I offer general counselling across a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and relational concerns. Within this broader work, I have particular clinical experience in trauma and complex trauma, addiction and compulsive behaviours, and men’s body image and embodied experiences. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

My approach is integrative, compassionate, and collaborative. Rather than applying the same method to every person, I draw from different evidence-informed therapeutic approaches according to your needs, preferences, and goals.

Counselling can provide space to understand what is happening, recognise patterns, strengthen your ways of coping, and consider changes that feel meaningful to you.

Testimonials

"I was sceptical about counselling at first, but Mark was so kind and understanding he quickly put me at ease. I felt truly heard. I've started to see things from a different perspective and tackle challenges head-on. It's a work in progress, but I'm grateful for the progress I've made already."
